The Big German Locum Exchange: The term locum is primarily used in Anglosaxon countries and means any kind of interim, short-term or temporary work in various professions. Due to the high degree of regulation in all of the healthcare professions (with binding staff quotas and qualification profiles for certain situations) Locums in the UK will primarily work in the areas of healthcare, but alos in the areas of social work, education and in other areas. In Germany predictably a rising demand for locums is currently developing in the aftermath of various cost reduction measures enacted in recent years which have created an increasing number of bottlenecks and and increasing demand for ad hoc solutions. The Big German Locum Exchange of German Medicine Net intends to create an easy-to-handle and user-friendly bridge between "demand and supply" (i.e. hospitals and surgeries demanding locums and doctors, nurses, physiotherapists etc. offering their services as locums. The Big Locum Exchange for the UK: Alomost at the same time German Medicine Net together with a renowned Uk partner company (whose name must remain confidential for the time being due to ongoing contractual negotiations) will be launching a Locum Exchange for Great Britain. Doctors and other healthcare professionals from Germany and other countries wishing to work in the UK will be able to present their skill profiles and times of availability in our UK Locum Database thereby gaining access to large numbers of potential new contacts.
